VISITORS ADDRESSING THE BOARD:
TOWN BUILDING, GROUNDS & EQUIPMENT:

New locks are on. The locks are just a little different. When you unlock the door you have to push the handle down and the button will pop up to unlock it.
COMMUNICATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE:

We are still receiving cards from residents thanking us for the gift cards we sent in November. We received a ballot from USDA to vote on the committee for the Farm Service Agency.

We discussed the lock box, and Rhonda Hodges cannot access the canceled checks from the bank. We need her added to the account to view the statements and the balances and nothing else. She needs to be able to see the balances at the end of the month and checks that have cleared.
TOWN BUSINESS – Supervisor:
There will be a coffee gathering the first Wednesday of the month with the first one on February 4 from 9 – 10 (or when people begin leaving) at the Hollis Park Rec Center in Mapleton. Hollis Township will buy the new coffee pot, so they don’t have to haul one back and forth. This is a joint venture with Hollis Township and Hollis Park. We will run it for a while, but if people don’t use it, we will quit it.

Russ said he will have to make some adjustment to the vault door as the new lock isn’t lining up right.
CLERK BUSINESS:

The clerk said she found a good deal on a computer that was $2,000 off that will be purchased this week. She also reminded the board that she would be on vacation from February 6 through February 14.

ROAD BUSINESS – Highway Commissioner:
Denny asked about virus security for computers and Russ explained that the Township uses Office 365 which includes virus protection.

He said he had the guys out laying salt before the expected snow fall.

No new information on the new tandem. It’s going to take a long time. He is still looking into having the old engine rebuilt so we’d have a spare if it can be fixed.

The new snowplow is in, but when they put it together it didn’t have the springs. The truck is there and should be done tomorrow.

TRUSTEES / Information / Business: NONE

ASSESSOR’S OFFICE / Information / Business:

Alice wants ‘tax’ removed from her title.
She explained that the other assessors say we should take the Civility pledge because they deal with people.

Nothing new in the taxes yet. If you see anyone that’s over 65 let her know so she can make sure they have the extra $5000 off.

Illini Bluffs School raised taxes 8% which is going to hurt a lot of people.

OLD UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Denny said that storm water drainage comes every couple of years. Pat (engineer) has again asked for an exemption from the EPA.
He paid the bill to the lawyer and didn’t get anything from Ameren as they said they didn’t tear anything up. Attorney fee was $1,741 for dealing with Ameren and Pat, the engineer.

NEW BUSINESS:
None

MOTION to adjourn made by Rich Murray; second by Dwayne Allen

The motion passed. Adjourned at 8:01 pm
