VISITORS ADDRESSING THE BOARD: Joyce Blumenshine spoke about the Alliance against the CO2 pipelines and handed out information about the dangers of these pipelines and asked the board for support against the pipelines.

TOWN BUILDING, GROUNDS & EQUIPMENT:

COMMUNICATIONS & Correspondence: Russ stated he received a certified letter from Wolf Carbon Solutions and has this on his desk if anyone wants to read it concerning the CO2 pipeline.
.
TOWN BUSINESS ~ Supervisor: Discuss and Take Action on generator bids. Russ stated he did not contact CIES that was mentioned at the last meeting. He currently has bids for $31,275 from RNS Electric, $ 32,500 from Quick Electric and $ 29,995.00 from Oberlander Electric with $1000 in savings if we have 2 generators installed. Bill asked what the yearly maintenance costs would be. Russ stated he did not get information on maintenance agreements. He estimated it would cost $300 to $400 a year for maintenance. Stacie asked if this could be tabled, and the board agreed.
Russ handed out State Fair tickets to the board.
CLERK BUSINESS: Rhonda stated she updated the mailing name on the Real Estate Tax bill to Hollis Township instead of having the supervisor’s name listed.

ROAD BUSINESS ~ Highway Commissioner: Dennis forgot to ask Diane to check on an updated report on the Motor Fuel Tax amount but will try to have this at next meeting. The crew has been doing quite a bit of boom mowing, but the hoses are needing updated, so the company will install new ones for us. Summit road has dropped over the years and has 4 feet of gravel in it which is caused by wear and tear. The seal coating is complete, and the fog coating will help seal the roads and is recommended by engineers. Pat Meyer reviewed roads today with Dennis looking for options to help with the ruts in the road. There is a product that might help with wash away, so Dennis is going to try on a few areas to see how it works. The rain causes washout and there is nothing that can really be done about it due to the hills and hollers, plus the hot weather we have had. He is going to try a new grass seed that is salt tolerant due to salt runs off and kills the grass. Bill asked the price of salt and Dennis stated it is now $69 a ton and Dennis is hoping he may not need to buy all his minimum this year.

Peoria County Highway Department Motor Fuel Tax Report : No report

TRUSTEES/ Information / Business:

TAX ASSESSOR’S OFFICE / Information / Business: Alice is receiving calls from residents wanting to know if their tax amounts will go down with the CO2 pipeline. She has explained the Assessor’s office has no information on this.

OLD UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Discussion on Educational conference November 12-14, 2023, in Springfield and who will be attending. Bill Gerdes and Dennis Beckman both stated they will be attending.

NEW BUSINESS: Dennis mentioned there is a problem on South Lafayette Road with parking on the hill and this may have to be brought before the board for discussion and a solution to the problem. The board discussed that yes, it is a problem and Russ mentioned the fire district has had issues. Dennis stated a possible solution sis no parking signs, but he will possibly have to notify the attorney about an ordinance because this is a dangerous situation. Dennis is going to stop and talk to the resident first before moving to legal means as a solution.

MOTION to adjourn made by __W. Gerdes___________; second _S. Breedlove__________.
The motion passed unanimously.

The Meeting adjourned at 8:04 PM.
